Fine!!A balance!(PESIT '07)

This is the piece that won me the prize at the PESIT fest recently. Not too proud of this one, but anyway, i'll just log it in here...The topic for poetry was-"A fine balance".

Troubled teen smokin’ out
To dig out mind’s elation;
A six-year old shinin’ shoes
In hunger desperation.

The heavenly Lord hatching life
Suffocatin’ mind starvation
The same sadist holy giver
Bless few with smiling passion

Pregnant girl begging food
In a crowded railway station
While a heiress her age grumbles in rage
Over warm air circulation.

Hot shot’s sun boozin’ away
To nothin’ celebration
While a crippled coolie sweeps the floor
To earn his daily ration.

For every good is a bad
In this devil’s working station
Though no one gets both sides
Of this sad “divine” equation!

Overall He finds a balance
In every complication
It’s not fair, But it’s fine
‘Cos life’s a burning creation.

Everything in this world is ruled by equilibrium. Every element, be it physical, emotional, or even cosmic, has a equally strong countering force trying to nullify nature to zero.

It’s a balance. It’s not fair, but it’s fine.

my ninth grade maths teaches used to say , who ll be fruit sellers if everyone becomes s/w engineers? I agree but I am not ready to be a fruit seller. So its neither fine nor fair but inevitable ...
